Original Advantech ADAM-4520 Insulated Series Communication Converter for Van de Wiele Weaving Tables
The Advantech ADAM-4520 is a heavy-duty isolation module that converts standard RS-232 communication signals in industrial automation systems to high-speed, long-distance, and interference-resistant RS-422 or RS-485 signals. It is used in the panels of Van de Wiele carpet weaving machines to prevent line noise and ground loops in data transfer between the industrial PC (IPC) and sub-controllers and drive cards.
Thanks to the 3000 VDC high galvanic isolation protection on its surface, it prevents voltage fluctuations and electromagnetic interference from damaging the sensitive main board. With its automatic data flow control (Auto Flow Control) feature, it manages the data direction itself without the need for an external RTS signal line. It has a locking structure that can be mounted on a DIN rail and directly onto the panel floor.
